Let’s geek out.

  • Search Engine Optimization

Being found online can be difficult. The ever-shifting landscapes of search engines and user behavior make learning both the theory and hard skills of SEO difficult. With more than a decade of experience in SEO spanning across multiple industries, from small businesses to enterprise, I can help your organization demystify and operationalize search engine optimization. Let’s figure out the philosophies and processes you need to succeed.

  • Web Strategy for Small Businesses

Getting an organization established online can be overwhelming. Choosing systems, telling your story online, and meshing it with your everyday operations can seem daunting. I’ve led workshops geared precisely for this, helping small businesses and non-profits sort through some of the big decisions around their digital storytelling, strategies, and operations. It has to wok for your org; let’s find the best way to do that, together.

  • Bridging Tech & Creative

Websites can be complex, multifaceted creations requiring a high wire balancing act between technical creative priorities. Search engine optimization, accessibility, and user experience all call for a cohesive, collaborative approach to form/function. Whether you have copywriters looking to become more search-savvy or developers needing to mesh the design/UX team’s vision with an SEO-friendly architecture, I LOVE building bridges.

  • Work/Life Balance

Life is always…a lot. Regardless of your employment situation (self-employed, salaried, side-hustling, unemployed, any everything in-between), your family situation, your community involvement, etc. there is always going to be so. Much. Happening. It can be exciting. It can be exhausting. Let’s talk about ways to keep your head screwed on straight when it seems like there are SO many balls in the air.

 Current Keynotes

  • With hundreds of algorithm and SERP updates each year and millions of lines of of data at our disposal, it can become easy to get swept up in the “new and now” of search engine optimization.

In this keynote, I discuss the fundamentals of SEO that have remained unchanged in recent years, and the user-first mindset that will allow stakeholders — from individual contributors to execs — to better grasp the shifting dynamic between users, data, language, intent, tech, and the search engines themselves.

  • Creatives and strategists can both be very passionate about their spheres, but getting them on the same page can be tricky. Learning how to create an ongoing flow of communication and collaboration across teams can revolutionize the way your organization approaches content strategy. It can even apply when your “content team” is a single unicorn employee who does it all.

In this session, I dive into the practice of integrating two things that often feel at odds with each other: data-driven research, and creative from the heart. Whether you have disparate teams, a blended organization, or a single individual managing your content strategy, there are takeaways to improve the content strategy process for your organization.

  • Small businesses and non-profits often find themselves stretched pretty thing. In the words of Bilbo Baggins, we can often feel “like butter scraped over too much bread.” Often, we are so busy working IN the business that we struggle to prioritize working ON the business.

In this keynote session, I discuss some of the decision-making processes that go into selecting tools, identifying partners and solution providers, and operationalizing web operations when you’re a small (but mighty) team.

  • With remote work at new historic levels, the lines between life at home and life at work have blurred past distinction. As a self-employed, work-from-home mom, I get it. From my early career doing the full-time-plus-side-hustling dance, to motherhood in corporate America, to self-employment around a young child’s schedule, I’ve seen and done (and failed) a lot.

This session covers some of the philosophy of prioritization and goal-setting, and the practical applications that I’ve had to evolve over the years to stay afloat when things feel cuckoo-bananas. Let my dropped balls and near-misses become the nuggets of wisdom that fuel you as you find systems and tools that wor for you.
